Candles: Real vs. LED
It is the age old question: Real or LED. With so many options now for LED candles, I am a huge proponent on using them. The look has improved over the years, and they put off just as much light, if not more, as a real flame. Now, there could be some issues that you run into that will sway you one way or another. This will include preference, budget, and location. As far as your preference, there are some brides who just absolutely insist on having real candles. While I agree that they do have a beautiful look to them, there are many things you have to worry about including burn time, air drafts, lighting them all and making sure they stay lit. As far as budget, yes, LED candles are a little more expensive now, but I love the ones from Hobby Lobby that come in a set of 3 with a remote control (you have never lived until you can turn all the candles on in an event space by just walking around with a remote!). They are $40, but often run on 50% off, or use coupons and stock up on them. The great thing about LED, is that you can continue to enjoy them for years to come in your home. Finally looking at location, depending upon where you are having your wedding, many places will no longer allow you to have real flames for safety reasons, so be sure to keep this in mind when planning. So, summing it all up, make sure that you keep preference, budget and location in mind when you are planning your special day. Do a little extra research and save a headache when you find out that your locations requires a specific type of candle. I will show you in a future blog how you can also use your decor as thank you gifts!
